LBMA AFTER DARK

I was already planning on going to LBMA After Dark because I heard that it was a blast, then I was fortunate enough to get asked to vend and do a demo along with the other gals from the Long Beach Craft Mafia. Hope to see you there!

Leatherette Heart in Bust Magazine

My home girl, fellow Long Beach Craft Mafiosa, and one of my top favorite people of all time, Liz Abbot, has a dress she made featured in Bust Magazine this month. Check out more of her stuff at leatheretteheart.etsy.com

BONUS: in the back of the magazine there is a hilarious comic by Esther Pearl Watson . I bought Unlovable at last Spring's Unique Los Angeles. She is a super cool lady and even personalized it with a funny doodle.

Hands off my jelly roll

Sweet Emma "I Ain't Gonna Give Nobody None Of My Jellyroll"

I (not so) secretly wish Lady Gaga or Beyonce (either or) would cover this song... and I would make them a giant jelly roll hat.

My new favorite.

I read this really great S.britt interview on Grain Edit.

He is really freakin' funny. I especially enjoyed his creative process employing crayons, for obvious reasons.

Read up on a few of his influences:

Raindrops on rummies and whiskers on women
Bright copper swamp stills and buck naked swimmin’
Covered in calamine, to soothe the wasp stings
These are a few of my favorite things!

Big Chief tablets and Sharpies for doodles
Schlitz and tuna fish and Top Ramen noodles
In a tattered blue bathrobe, fit for a king
These are a few of my favorite things!

Raccoons and hobos that go through your trashes
Thirty-one bite marks and red swollen scratches
A dozen more rabies shots just before spring
These are a few of my favorite things!

When the rent’s late, when the water breaks
When I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad!
